Tindakan tegas untuk membersihkan situs-situsnya dari hal yang berbau p:orno dan kekerasan merupakan salah satu usaha pemerintah China melindungi perkembangan mental dan moral generasi mudanya. China sadar betul bahwa pemerintah selagu otoritas pelaksana regulasi memiliki peran penting.

Sepertiga dari website yang ditutup merupakan situs yang tidak teregistrasi di Departemen pemerintah dan melanggar undang-undang dah hukum tentang regulasi penyebaran pornografi, ungkap Biro Operasi Khusus Penanganan Situs P:orno dan Kekerasan Seksual.
